effective:

The sharing module on the sandbox platform is actually quite simple. It serves as a digital bulletin board where you can search for rental items or make your items available.

Borrow things

Anyone can browse the sharing area of the Sandkasten platform - all items can be viewed online. If you want to reserve something, you need an account on the Sandkasten platform. For all TU members, this is the normal account via the y-number or user ID. External sandbox users have separate log-in details.

If you click on an item that interests you, you can find out more about it. For example, some items can only be borrowed for specific purposes, such as “Event related to campus life”. In the detailed view, you will also find ratings, information about the lender and much more. By clicking on “Reserve now”, a window will appear in which you can specify the desired period. The reservation request is now sent directly to the lender, and you can then exchange information individually. Don’t forget to leave feedback after the rental.

Lend things (as an organization)

If you as an organization would like to make several items available for rental, it makes sense to create your own profile under “Organizations”. To do this, simply send a short description and a logo/image to the team behind the Sandkasten platform by email.
As soon as your organization has been created, you can also select it when setting up a sharing item.

When describing the item, you should make sure that all the important information is included. With the photo box, for example, it is important to know which paper you need to get in advance. For the picture, you should make sure that it is meaningful and that you can recognize all the essentials.
As soon as someone is interested in your item and reserves it for a period of time, you will be notified in your mailbox. You can then make an appointment with the borrower to collect the item. To be on the safe side legally, you should use a loan form, which we will be happy to provide you with.

Lend things (as an individual)

Sure, you can do that too! Simply enter your own e-mail address when creating the sharing item. The borrowing process is then exactly the same as for organizations (see above).
