Why are sponsorships important?

As students or young people in general, we are often on the move or relocate frequently, for example after completing our studies or training. Committing to something in one place for a long time is not so easy. Nevertheless, we don’t want to be stopped! We want to realize our ideas and watch them become reality. When we implement a project, the result often lasts longer than we study at university, for example. This is often the case with construction projects.
In this case, it is important that you look for sponsors who care about the project and who are interested in continuing the project and taking on responsibility. In general, it is important to clarify the question of sponsorship if the project continues beyond the project implementation period.

Who could these sponsors be?

Sponsor can be anyone who finds the project interesting and would like to maintain it. This can be individuals who study or work at the TU. But they can also be university institutes, student councils or initiatives that take on the sponsorship of your project. It is important that you start looking for potential sponsors early enough.

When should I start looking for sponsors?

The following applies to this question: The earlier, the better!
It’s best to start thinking about this in phase 1 and slowly begin your search. By the end of the second phase at the latest, before you submit the implementation application, you should have clarified the question of sponsorship and signed the transfer agreement.
Your project coach will be happy to help you find sponsors and can give you helpful tips, for example on who you could approach.

What is the sponsorship agreement?

The sponsorship agreement is a form with which the sponsorship is recorded in writing. You and the future sponsor must sign it together and record the conditions of the sponsorship. You can obtain the transfer agreement from your project coach. The signed transfer agreement must be submitted with the implementation application.

What should I bear in mind when looking for sponsors?

Finding a suitable sponsor is sometimes not that easy. But you shouldn’t let this intimidate you. You should be able to present your project well, e.g. as part of the campaign, and have some initial ideas about what sponsorship for your project could look like. The following questions can help:
Does something need regular maintenance or cleaning?
Can costs be incurred?
Does the sponsorship take up a lot of time?
Answering these questions and presenting the project well shows potential patrons that you put a lot of effort into it and what your expectations are.

If you have any further questions about your sponsorship, please contact your project coach.
