In addition to studying and teaching, there are countless opportunities to volunteer on campus at the TU Braunschweig – to make lasting changes and shape things yourself, or just to be part of it. Sandkasten offers a possibility for orientation and networking.

The idea is that people who spend many hours a day at the TU Braunschweig help shape the campus as their working and living space.

The Sandkasten team of the Knowledge Transfer, Transfer and Cooperation House of the TU Braunschweig facilitates participatory projects, especially on the current focus topic "Sustainability", which refers to the 17 Sustainability Goals of the UN. Sandkasten finds solutions to sustainability issues by making and doing together.

The goal of the topic-centered knowledge transfer is to interweave it in research and teaching or to let it have an impact. The team wants to achieve this through innovative format development, e.g. through service learning or through cooperation with research focuses such as City of the Future, the Cluster of Excellence SE²A, and with participation research at the TU Braunschweig.

Through the Sandkasten-Platform as a digital place and the Sandkasten-Zentrale as an analog place, the team offers exchange and versatile participation opportunities in the form of co-determination, active support and funding opportunities. This creates a network of students and employees of the TU Braunschweig as well as the people of the city and region of Braunschweig.

The participatory, sustainable projects range from the Bücherzelle on Campus North, to the Campuskino on University Square, to the Studierendengarten on Beethovenstraße.

Sandkasten does not impose any deadlines or time limits. Projects can be implemented throughout the year after consultation.
