In addition to studying and teaching, there are countless opportunities to volunteer on campus at TU Braunschweig - to make a lasting change and shape things yourself or simply to be involved. The sandbox platform offers an opportunity for orientation and networking.
The idea is that people who spend many hours a day at the TU Braunschweig help shape the campus as their working and living space.
The Knowledge Transfer department in Transfer Services of the TU Braunschweig enables participatory projects on the the key topic of “sustainability“, and thus relates to the 17 sustainability goals of the UN. People use the Sandkasten platform to find find solutions to sustainability issues by doing things together.
The aim of topic-centered knowledge transfer is to integrate this integrated into research and teaching. This is achieved through format development, e.g. through the teaching-learning format “Learning through Engagement“ (service learning) or through collaborations, e.g. with research research focus areas such as the city of the future and with participation research at the TU Braunschweig.
Through the Sandkasten platform as a digital place and the Sandkasten-Center as an analog place, we offer exchange and versatile participation opportunities in the form of funding opportunities and support. This creates a network of students and employees of TU Braunschweig as well as the people of the city and region of Braunschweig.
The participative, sustainable projects range from the “Hey Alter“ participation project to the “Archishare“ swap shelf and the “Open Bike Sensor“ mobility project for greater bicycle safety in Braunschweig.
Projects can be implemented throughout the year via the Sandkasten platform after consultation. Experienced project coaches support project teams in implementing project ideas on the topic of sustainability.
